My PF receiver's log file is showing a lot of entries like below:

To my knowledge, airplane Mode S tracking at hobbyist-level became possible with the advent of the Kinetic SBS-1 receiver in 2005 (pls correct me if I 'm wrong) . The requirement to operate a Mode S transponder in all aircraft (except gliders) flying within Class A to C controlled airspace...
Nice to meet you too!
You probably know that there are PlanePlotter users who run it on Linux with Virtualbox: http://planeplotter.pbworks.com/w/page/65087887/Linux
But I don't really know how well that works. And many PlanePlotter users don't see TCAS Alert messages anyway, because...
I have temporarily put online a compilation of TCAS Alert logs from December 2016 - July 2017.
My antenna has (partial) visibility to the Paris, Reims, Langen, Amsterdam and Brussels FIRs.
I use a PlaneFinder Radar Receiver in conjunction with...
Sorry for my late reply. I know that PlanePlotter users filter helicopters using conditional expressions (condex).
There are a few messages about that on the PP mailing list.
PlanePlotter works nicely in conjunction with the Plane Finder receiver.
The disconnects have disappeared :) after stopping data processing in PP, and then toggling PP's share button. The PP share button can be used while PP is processing, but I suppose it's safer to stop processing first, especially if PP gets a high data rate from the PFR receiver.
I'm using PlanePlotter as an echo port listener for the PlaneFinder Receiver. Since I've updated to the latest PP version (184.108.40.206), the PFR Receiver log is showing below entries:
"Echo port message queue exceeded threshold! Will attempt to disconnect slow listeners"
Then PP is...
Thank you Lee, for the info. Am I correct to understand that only ADS-B "squitters" contain GPS position information, or can GPS positions also be present in replies to Mode S ELS/EHS interrogation by ground radar?
Thank you again,
This probably is a stupid question but here goes: Would the PFR Receiver still show aircraft in far remote areas without SSR Mode S or any other SSR interrogation by ground stations?
In other words: Does the receiver listen to Mode S ELS / EHS replies from aircraft or to ADS-B (Mode S...
A Jet Airways B777 (JAI118) flying from Mumbai to London was intercepted at FL360 over Germany on Feb 16 by two German Airforce Eurofighters. The B777 had lost radio contact with ATC over the Czech Republic.
The intercept was filmed from the cockpit of a British Airways B777 flying...
