I think it may well have been another site/system that you were thinking of.
The easiest way I have found to do what you want is to use the 'filter' option. I have military and drone set, then turn it on an off as I need to. More options are available. See screen captures attached.
3 and EE use the 800MHz allocation and various other higher bands, the only one that you could have any issues from is the 800 one.
Don't worry about 5G as it uses frequencies way higher than 1090.
The filter you show is the sort of thing I had in mind, although not one I's use specifically...
I've also noticed an increase in the number of Russian civilian aircraft coming up with 7700. From the few I've looked at, the only suggestion I can make is that due to the extended routing that many are flying, they are becoming fuel critical.
It depends on what frequencies they are operating on and the strength of the transmitter, but they certainly have the ability to affect your reception, especially if using a USB stick without additional filtering.
