Connection failed error

Guys,

recently downloaded the planefinder app. Works like a dream on my wifi network, better than the other flight tracker I have. However, when I try to use it over a 3G network (not on a wifi one) I get a 'Connection failed' error in red at the top of the screens.

All my other apps work fine on 3G...is there a separate setting I'm missing? Can't find anything. Have even re-installed but unfortunately no change. Any ideas? Am running it on a Samsung Galaxy S3.
