Cut the cord!
If you find the supplied antenna to be pretty useless, but would like to use that nice connector,
try to find a good RF connector (I like SMA type) and install it on the cable..
My cable is marked RG-174 and I didn't have a connector in stock..
So, I drilled out an SMA made for a smaller diameter cable..
RG-174 isn't the best cable to use at 1090 Mhz.. So, unless you are driving the dongle with an LNA, keep the cable short.
This crimp type is similar to what I used. Inside the cavity, there is a notched rod. You lay in the center conductor, and solder it with a fine point iron. The cavity has a screw-on cap, mine was solder-on.
