Need help setting up PlanePlotter with Plane Finder Radar.

Received a new Plane Finder Radar three days ago. From what I can see, both decode count and range has increased when using the same antenna setup as used for years with an old SBS1.
But when trying to use PlanePlotter with my new receiver I get an error message when starting PlanePlotter, saying: Failed to connect: 10049. Start server (BS/ANRB/etc) check details and try again.
Does anyone know how to set up PlanePlotter properly with this receiver?

Greetings from Norway,
Egil.

Hi Egil,

Great news about the performance, confirms what we see in our testing!

You will need to configure PlanePlotter to use a Plane Finder Radar.

In the I/O settings you will need to make sure Plane Plotter is using the Plane Finder Radar as the source. It will look like this...

And then buried in the settings you need to set the IP address (and port) of the receiver...

The IP will be different to what I have there but it will always be :30054 at the end.

Thank you Lee!

Had only done the first point of your explanation above and was not aware that I had to also specify the receiver somewhere else. Seems like the PP menues have been expanded somewhat since I last studied them.
My system had been running for several years, so never needed to change anything before my old SBS1 suddenly "died".
Works ok now.:)

Yes the menus do keep expanding and expanding!

I would suggest setting a DHCP reservation for your receiver on your router so the IP does not change.

Hi John,

When I started with this great hobby seven years ago, I had just read an article in a techical magazine, and had no knowledge of what reallt was going on. Though I still have a lot to learn, most of the general knowledge needed, was found by browsing these websites:
https://www.radarspotters.eu/forum/
http://radarspotting.com/forum/

If I could not find what I wanted by searching the forums, the other forum users kindly answered my (sometimes very stupid) questions.
And I guess that the users of this forum also will help you if they can. As you see in this thread, I got help very fast when needing to use my new receiver with the PlanePlotter software,

Good luck!

Egil
