Thanks. We have Windows to come next and are adding a few more basic things but it looks like we have certainly achieved something better than the old version!

Thank you.

Out of interest. (And to stop me firing up all the browsers) does it happen only on the XP browser or other OS's too?
I am away from home, could not try from desktop Win 7 or Google Chrome. Tried from my Android phone's Firefox. Started map.html at 4:44pm local time (20:44 utc)& then logs.html at 4:45 local time (20:45 utc).
Same as from Win XP Firefox: "Failed to read web server request".

I don't have such problems, but the log window is not showing all the lines (of the day), only the last ~50.
Is this version related?

The log rolls over every 24 hours so if you are close to a 24 hour boundary you'll only see a few lines.

Thanks, we'll investigate. I take it the page is actually loading fine though?

Thaks Lee.
So the 24hrs comet starts from the time the script starts and not related to the calendaristic 24hrs (day).
In my opinion it would be better to reset it at 0000UTC or LT.

Correct, 24 hours from when it starts.

Point taken but we find it useful like this

Yes, there is no problem in loading any of the pages: map.html, logs.html, stats.html, data.html, & setup.html, all load smoothly

updated to version 3.0.1435, running fine! (had some silent crashes before, but thanks to email notification i could remotely reboot my pi).
nice low cpu usage :D (running on raspberry pi 2)

Haha sorry if I made you sweat :rolleyes::oops:.
(just for the record it went as follows:
24-05-2015 -> died around 19:00/20:00
26-05-2015 -> restarted around 18:00
27-05-2015 -> again crashed around 19:00/20:00
28-05-2015 -> restarted around 08:00
29-04-2015 -> crashed around 09:00
30-04-2015 -> restarted at 09:00

The cpu graph for dump1090 and number of planes seems ok during that period:

Let's see how this version works =]

Hi Lee,

I'm having issue displaying planes after upgrading from nodeJS PFclient 2.1.23 to this beta version.

I purged the old node from my Rpi and installed this beta as per your first post. I had an issue installing (error about crontab group) but was able to remedy that.

So now I have the new PFClient installed, created a new sharecode and went through the initial setup.
My config settings from before were:
{"receiverType":"30003","connectionType":"network","homeLocation":"xx.xxxx,xx.xxxxx","username":"xxxxx","password":"xxxx","ip":"127.0.0.1","tcpPort":30003}

I've tried these settings in the new pfclient but that do not work for me. (RDF:30003 (BS), IP:127.0.0.1,Port:30003)

I should point out that I've been using my SBS1er via USB to the Rpi and not using basestation for the decoding. I'm using modesmixer -> dump1090 -> PF Client instead.

Also, when I select BaseStation 30003 in the settings- PFclient appears to lock up and a reboot is required.

Any advice?
Cheers

For a start I wouldn't use 30003 at all if possible as you are missing out on so much more, that said it should work though so it would be interesting to get some more info.

Can you attach the logs and the config of the new client please, can always private message them to me? Also some OS details would be handy. This might give some clue as to that error on install as we don;t touch the crontab!

Also why not attach out client to ModesMixer?

Hi Lee,

I found I was using quite an old version of modesmixer which I have upgraded and now have working with the new pfclient.

Also, I've now ditched dump1090 as you have suggested.

I can use either beast/avr/kinetic Data format and all seem to work. Is any one better over the other?
I'm now using port 10003. Is that any better than 30003? Ireally don't understand how I could miss data by port selection???

What happened to the google earth view? I loved the 3D view which is now lost.

Cheers

Great news, I'm glad that fixed it.

30003 is already decoded but misses some of the extra info we can extract from the ADS-B packet such as autopilot info! Beast Binary is probably the most robust coming out of ModeSMixer I would say.

Google Earth has gone as Google are actually removing this feature from browsers in the coming months. We want to bring something back in the future though.

@Lee Armstrong
Pf Client Beta2, which worked fine for few days, has stopped feeding data since 30th April. Today I purchased a new microSD Card, and made a fresh install of everything, but pfclient still not feeding data, and also does not show planes on http:<ipaddress of RPi>:30053.
The dump1090-mutability's "gmap.html" is displaying planes, and Piaware & FR24feed are successfully feeding data.
Pfclient Log says "Failed connection to all provided addresses"
Log file is attached.

Settings are:

Tcp Address 192.168.2.17
Tcp Port 30053
Poll Timeout 10000
Data Format Beast
Connection Type TCP
Aircraft Timeout 30
Latitude 43.xxxxxx
Longitude -79.xxxxxx
