Plane Finder Flight Data

Hi Everyone, :)

Just wondering about how Plane Finder gets its flight data from. Does it get it from manual input by the administrators or does a system decode the data sent from the plane?
I have noticed some planes with no flight destination on Plane Finder but I have found some information about some of the planes without data. I was wondering if I could help with anything...
Could someone offer any information that could help?

Hi Shine,

From the aircraft we just get the ADS-B hexcode and the current callsign.
We then have to build the picture from there.

Hexcode leads us to the aircraft registration, model number etc.
The callsign we use to match to the flight number, routes etc.

Much of this we have to update and manage manually!
Very happy for you to post any errors that you see here on this forum.

Hi Shine,

For ADS-B planes - where we don't know the details please include the hexcode, callsign and ideally the model number.
Posting here is fine.

If you have one please post it and we will check the format and info.

Airline: Alliance Airways "UNITY"
Callsign: UTY4548
Flight Number: QQ4548
Route: Prominent Hill Airport (PXH, YPMH) - Adelaide International Airport (ADL, Adelaide)

These are some of the flights flying without details. I will add some more progressively. If there is some information or anything else that you need, please let me know.

That information is perfect for these two airlines as we do not have good data as you have seen.
If easier for you then you could abbreviate the routes - for example ADL-MEL, YPAD-YMML

I have added these to our systems :)

Hello Mark Sir,
I Would also like to tell you that in India Aircraft's of " Jet Lite (ICAO:JLL IATA: S2) " All of Jet Lite Flights on Planefinder dont show Route.
And Therefore We have to look for route with i.e. S2 4455 ( BOM > HYD )
Please Try To Fix it if Possible...

Sorry but I will be mostly providing you with flight details from Adelaide Airport as I am based at Adelaide. I will be keeping my eyes out from other planes as well. I will let you know as soon as possible when I have the details from a flight without data.

We've added these.
We also have spent some time on our Qantaslink data as I saw a few other gaps when looking at QJE1909.
Our data for this airline should be better now - thanks for your help :)

Hi Mark,

I have a problem with the data on Plane Finder...

NC18 is from Moomba Airport (MOO) to Adelaide International Airport. (ADL)
Plane Finder does show the IATA data (from where to where) but when you open the info box, it shows 'MOO' to be Unknown. Can this problem be fixed? :confused:
