Receiver list puzzle

Had some time to kill this morning and looked more closely at the 'receiver list' table than I would do normally. Importing and sorting it in Excel identified a couple of things that I found odd:

• From the data sampled, there are 212 users reporting more (and in some cases many times more) than 1000 reports per aircraft
• All of those show location as 'unknown'
• A very high proportion are shown as 'anonymous'
• A proportion of these are reporting very low 'aircraft per day' but a high total report count

Is there a logical explanation or is it just faulty data?
