Unable To Access Historical Data Older Than 2 Weeks

Hello there! :)

I'm from Melbourne, Australia (any other Aussies out there?)

I've been a plane spotter for many years, and I joined Plane Finder a few months ago (and this forum only today), partly to get a hold of historical data for past flights I've sighted, tracked or flown on.

When I first signed up to Plane Finder earlier this year, I was able to view as far back as May 2011.

That was until a couple of months ago, when I noticed I could only go as far back as a fortnight from a current date. For example, say I was on the website on April 28th, I could only view flights up to two weeks before that date, if that makes sense.

Can someone please tell me why I can't access older flight data?

Also, out of curiosity, will flight data older than May 2011 be added to this website?

Thanks!

Perhaps this is related to free/paid membership? Under the Commercial tab it has the following:

Historical Flight Data
Looking for historical flight data? Plane Finder historical flight data is available in 5 minute or 1 minute intervals dating back to 2011 and is delivered as flat files in CSV format.

Hello Andrew,

We were coming under systematic attacks to steal the data. So sadly this was spoilt by a few and we had to put it behind a subscription.

That said we now only allow the past 1 year to be accessible now but yes we still have the data back to 2011.

It made us really sad to have to do this but the few spoilt it for us all!

I'm new here too (although had the paid for App for quite a long time).

I was also looking for a way to find out the reg numbers of previous planes I had flown on.

I managed to do it today by selecting the playback button and then choosing the date and time of departure or arrival (if you know it), and then spending alot of time watching for my plane to appear. (Remember the time is your local time, so you have to take into account time zone or clock changes).

I was able to go back to my 2011 flights, and even found out I had travelled on G-VIIO (BA 777-200) 10 months before it caught fire on take off at Las Vegas.

I still have a lot to find, but its quite interesting if you have some spare time on your hands.

How do I subscribe to get a hold of this flight data? I cannot find any link on the website where I can subscribe. :(
